I wish to recognise them for their invaluable assistance in making this what I hope will be one of the best resources available to any family, a link to one another and to ourselves available to each and every one.
In 1982, I was assigned in a class the task of digging up some family records-not much, mind you, but I have never been able to do anything in a less-than-extravagant way. It's in my nature. I began a huge project that has not been completed-and never will be-but I did not do it alone.
First and foremost, my mother, Susan Lenore Springer Normand, was there to help with what she knew, and she continues to be a resource when I forget where I have put information! She also tends to remember the better family stories!
My next resource, and one that continued through the years, was my wonderful grandmother, Gladys Roberta Beckerman Springer, who provided so much information and so many stories and so many memories and family legends, I think I shall never get them all transcribed.
In 1983, on a trip to visit family, Samuel Springer spent many hours with me recalling what he could of his family, and telling me some legends he was told as a boy.
Many years hence, in 1998 and continuing this year, Sam's son, Arnold Myron Springer and his wife, Hilda Futrovsky Springer, have also offered assistance with names, dates, and memoires.
Since this project has begun, I have also spoken numerous times with my dear aunt, Eleanor Arlene Beckerman Grossman, who has straightened me out on a quite a few facts!
Also more recently, cousin Lenore Dreyer Stone has offered some updates on family memebers I have lost touch with.
I have recently met (online, no less) two more cousins, J. Erik Sincoff and his mother, Margaret Sincoff, who have provided some information, names, and dates, and made me call Aunt Ellie for another "straightening out" of my facts!
Cousin Barry Beckerman has done some genealogy on his own, and has been most helpful in taking the time out to send copies of his information by snail mail, including some of the reproduced photos now available on this site. Thanks!
Thanks a million to all of those who have helped in ways large and small, and to anyone I may have forgotten--please forgive me! As always, this is a continuing project, and new information, photos, and stories will be added regularly.
